Ingredients

A quick beginners guide to making fresh baguettes.

Ingredients for baguette recipe:

You will need:

  • either strong bread flour or A/P flour
  • 4 cups 600gm flour
  • 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt 4tbsp oil
  • 12 oz warm water

Method

Preparation of baguette recipe:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, you dont need to knead the dough create a rough dough ball.
  2. Cover the mixing bowl until dough has doubled in size.
  3. Once its doubled in size fold it within itself and cover once again.
  4. Do this process 3 times for best results.
  5. Though if you dont have the time it’ll still work after the first go. 
                                                                                                                                                   
    **** at this point dont forget to take the air out of your dough by pressing down on it*****
  6. Once doubled in size, create smaller dough balls.
  7. Roll out and shape your bread into baguette shapes or whatever youd like.
  8. Pinch the top and slit the bread with a sharp knife, rest for another 30 mins.
  9. Bake at 180°c for 30 minutes or until light brown.
  10. bon appetit baguette is ready to eat.
