A quick beginners guide to making fresh baguettes.
Ingredients for baguette recipe:
You will need:
- either strong bread flour or A/P flour
- 4 cups 600gm flour
- 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt 4tbsp oil
- 12 oz warm water
Method
Preparation of baguette recipe:
- Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, you dont need to knead the dough create a rough dough ball.
- Cover the mixing bowl until dough has doubled in size.
- Once its doubled in size fold it within itself and cover once again.
- Do this process 3 times for best results.
- Though if you dont have the time it’ll still work after the first go.
**** at this point dont forget to take the air out of your dough by pressing down on it*****
- Once doubled in size, create smaller dough balls.
- Roll out and shape your bread into baguette shapes or whatever youd like.
- Pinch the top and slit the bread with a sharp knife, rest for another 30 mins.
- Bake at 180°c for 30 minutes or until light brown.
