  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter

Method

To make the pastry, with a food mixer, mix the flour and butter together then add the egg with a little bit of water till it comes together in a rounded shape. Then wrap it in a cling film for 1 hr and put it in the fridge.

On the other hand, for the filling, peel off and mash the bananas first, then add butter in a sauce pan on medium heat. Put the bananas together with the sugar on low heat while stirring regularly, then add the vanilla essence and soy sauce and cook for 15 mins. After 15 mins, transfer to a bowl and let it cool down. completely.

Meanwhile remove the pastry from the fridge and roll out the pastry not too thin or too thick on a floured surface so that the dough doesnt stick. Grease small tin for tarts or one big tart mould. Keep aside some thin strips for the top of the tart. After laying the dough on the tart mould, pour the banana filling evenly. Then put the thin pastry strips on top of the filling. Brush the tops with some milk and then let it cook in an oven for 15 mins at 180 degree celsius until it turns golden brown. Preheat oven for 5 mins.
