Ingredients

Ingredients for Bhatura recipe :

  • 6 cups (3lbs) of all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp of vegetables oil
  • 2-3 cup of oil for frying
  • 2 tsp of taste
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • 11/2 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of semolina
  • 1/2 cup of plain yogurt Warm water as needed

Method

Preparation of Bhatura:

  1. In an stand mixer, with a dough attachment add flour, salt, baking soda, mix, then add sugar, yogurt, oil let the machine knead the dough by adding water little by little until form a soft and smooth dough.
  2. Sprinkle some dry flour on the working surface knead the dough by hand for a minute.
  3. Put the dough in an greasy bowl and let sit for 1-2 hours.
  4. Heat oil in an deep pan.
  5. Divided the dough in 16-18 equal sizes, sprinkle some dry flour on the working surface use a roller pin and roll the dough in 1/4 inch thick and deep fry until light golden brown on both sides.
  6. Bon appetit, Bhatura is ready to eat.

**Note: the dough can be done just in a bowl knead the dough by hand for at least 15 minutes.
