Cari sevrette ( dried shrimp) with moorli and with eddoes

Ingredients

Ingredients for Cari sevrette ( dried shrimp) with moorli and with eddoes recipe: 

  • 2 medium Onions
  • 2 medium tomato
  • 2 tbsp green chilli
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste Kasuri methi ( optional)
  • 2 handful dried shrimp
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp curry powder Curry leaves
  • 3 medium size round moorli
  • 4 medium size Edoes (arouille)
  • Salt to taste

Method

Preparation of Cari sevrette ( dried shrimp) with moorli and with eddoes: 

  1. Soak dried shrimp, wash & fry well
  2. Peel/cut into small pieces & wash moorli / Edoes.
  3. Crush moorli on roche cari or mortar/pestle
  4. Add oil to pan fry slice onion & mustard Add ginger & garlic paste
  5. Add chopped green chilli
  6. Add the rest of the spices & curry leaves,
  7. add water little by little until oil separate from spices then add either moorli or Edoes ( muraye/arouille)
  8. add water let cook about 15-20 mins.
  9. Bon appetit Cari sevrette ( dried shrimp) with moorli and with eddoes is ready to eat.

***Whatever curry you chose to make, just make sure you prepare the same amount of ingredients. Normally we make curry with the very small arouille but this one is a bit bigger.
