Ingredients

Ingredients for Chana puri recipe:

  • 300 gm A/P flour / la farine blanc
  • 3/4 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 250 ml tap water

Filling:

  • Potato Chana daal 110 gm
  • salt & turmeric powder
  • Coriander
  • Onion medium size chopped
  • Half chicken breast ( optional)
  • Turmeric
  • Chilli flakes
  • 1 lit oil for frying

Method

Preparation of Chana puri recipe:

  1. mix flour, sugar, salt, instant yeast & add water little by little until you get nice dough
  2. cover & leave to rest for 7hours.
  3. Boil daal & potatoes together with 1/2 tsp turmeric & salt to taste
  4. Warm 2 tbsp oil & Cook the chicken breast add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, salt & chilli flakes to taste & chopped onion with half cup of water, once well simmer, let cool & mince the chicken ( half chicken breast after cooking & mincing should be about 1 cup full )
  5. Then add potatoes, daal, coriander & mince chicken mix well, add fresh coriander or spring onion
  6. In the meantime put 1 litre of oil to warm on medium heat while making small ball with the daal( size of ping pong ball or even smaller)
  7. Put 2-3 daal ball in the dough & Wet your hand cover daal with the dough just fish the daal carefully with your wet hand & slowly put in the hot oil
  8. Fry on medium heat for 2 mins some lightly fry & some very light brown
  9. You can eat with any of your preferred chutni
  10. Bon appetit Chana puri is ready to eat.

**Useful tip always mix your dough the night before same like when we make bread the longer the dough rest the better the result thanks.
