Chicken Curry (Daube au Poulet)

Ingredients

Ingredients for Chicken Curry recipe (Daube au Poulet):

2 whole chicken (5 1/2 lbs) skin off cut into medium size

1 1/2 lbs of potatoes Peeled cut into cubes

3 large onions paste

2 large onion fried

2 tbsp of ginger & garlic paste

3-4 tbsp of tomato paste (concentrate)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tbsp of coriander powder

1 tbsp of cumin powder

1 tsp of crushed red dried chilies

1/2 tsp of cloves powder

1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder

1 tsp of cardamom powder

1 tsp of garam masala powder

140 ml of sunflower oil or any cooking oil

1 bunch of coriander chopped 

Method

Preparation of Chicken Curry  (Daube au Poulet):

  1. In a fry pan heat enough oil add some yellow food colour, and salt to the potatoes and fry for about 5-7 minutes remove from oil and set aside.
  2. In a large pan add 150 ml of oil, add the chicken with salt and pepper let saute for 2 minutes. Add ginger & garlic paste stir well on medium high heat for another 2 minutes.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium low, add all the spices and the tomato paste mix everything well add water if needed while cooking cover and let cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Add the potatoes cover and let cook for another 10-15 minutes keep the heat on medium low. Remove the lid add the fried onions, chopped coriander and the garam masala powder stir well uncover for 1 minutes. 
  5. Bon appetit, Chicken Curry (Daube au Poulet) is ready to eat.
