Meat Kalia Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredients for Meat Kalia Recipe

  • 3 lbs of boneless beef or veal
  • 1 1/2 lbs of potatoes peeled and cut in big chunks
  • add pinch of salt and yellow food colour and fry half way on medium heat
  • 2 large onions paste
  • 4 large fried onions
  • 2 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp of cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp of coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 tsp of cloves powder
  • 3/4 cup of plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable ghee
  • 1 1/4 cup of sunflower oil
  • 200 g of chopped coriander
  • 100 g of chopped mint Few green chilies 

 

Method

Preparation of Meat Kalia Recipe

  1. In a large pot of heavy bottom or non-stick, add the meat, oil, onions paste, yogurt, fried onions, ginger and garlic paste, all the Spices along with chopped coriander and mint mix everything well,
  2. Add the fry potatoes a bit of water mix until combine.
  3. Cook on high heat for 10 minutes and then reduce the heat to low keep the pot cover and let cook for 45 -55 minutes.
  4. Serve Meat Kalia with Paratha, Bread or Rice.
