Sweet Polenta Pudding (Poudine Mais)

Ingredients

Ingredients for Sweet Polenta Pudding recipe (Poudine Mais) :

  • 3 cups of polenta (mais en poudre)
  • 1 3/4 cups of granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp of cardamom powder
  • 2 litres of whole milk
  • 200 grams of coconut powder

Method

Preparation of Sweet Polenta Pudding (Poudine Mais):

  1. In a large heavy and nonstick bottom pan on medium low heat, add the milk keep stirring for 5 minutes. Add the polenta and cook for about 20 minutes do not leave it keep stirring it from preventing it to burn.
  2. Add the sugar and the cardamom powder and keep stirring on low heat until becomes a thick consistency this may take 35 minutes to cook and to get a nice creamy texture of polenta Pudding.
  3. Grease a glass tray or any other tray with butter pour the Pudding, spread the coconut powder, using your palm slightly press down the coconut to set it and to make sure they are evenly spread let it set and cool completely before slicing. 
  4. Bon appetit, Sweet Polenta Pudding (Poudine Mais) is ready to eat.
