Vindaille Orite (Octopus Vindalou, vindaye ourite) Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredients for Vindaille Orite (Octopus Vindalou, vindaye ourite) Recipe :

  • 1 1/2 lbs of Octopus
  • 3 teaspoon of ground mustard Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons of garlic paste
  • 1 large onion cut into big chunks
  • Few green chilies
  • 1 cup of sunflower oil or any Cooking oil 

Method

Preparation for Vindaille Orite (Octopus Vindalou, vindaye ourite) Recipe :

  1. Wash and boil your Octopus until tender that may takes about 1 hour to 2 hours or use pressure cooker and it may takes about 45 minutes.
  2. Heat oil on low heat in a nonstick pan, add garlic paste, ground mustard and turmeric powder cook for half a minute.
  3. Add Octopus stir occasionally.
  4. Add salt to taste, onions and green chilies and let cook for 10 minutes on low heat. 
  5. Bon appetit, vindaye d'ourite is ready to eat
